Medicare generally does not cover air ambulance. Medicaid, in some instances of medical necessity will cover air ambulance and pre-authorization is required. There are a number of factors involved with determining whether or not an insurance carrier will pay for air ambulance transportation. Each patient situation is unique and in order to best determine whether or not your insurance will cover the costs of air medical transportation, please contact our Billing Department and they will gladly assist you.

Air Ambulance 1 accepts all types of private medical insurance. Our Billing Department will contact the insurance company on your behalf and verify benefits for air ambulance services.
If benefits are available, we will follow insurance guidelines to obtain pre-authorization if required. Once your flight is completed, we will file a claim with the insurance company. If we receive payment from the insurance company, we will issue you a refund.
Should the insurance company deny payment of our claim for any reason, our Billing Department will begin the appeal process. We will review the claim and obtain additional records and documentation if needed. Rest assured we will do everything possible to make sure you receive the benefits you are entitled to.
