Air Ambulance 1

medical flights

Which type of aircraft is best for my medical flight needs?

Air Ambulance 1 is happy to discuss your needs and concerns with you so that we can recommend an appropriate air ambulance for domestic or international means of transport. When at all possible, we try to allow another family member or two to accompany the patient on their trip, as it’s comforting to have someone you know right there with you.

Best equipment and technology

Each of our medical flight fleet aircraft is situated with the best equipment and technology to accommodate a bed-to-bed transfer from your origin destination to your new facility. Our experts transport thousands of patients per year; so, we’re able to be attentive to common concerns and logistical needs. Our flight coordinators plan out everything from the most efficient means of transportation to the actual ground crews who are there to meet you when you arrive.

Air Ambulance 1 is equipped to manage your medical flight needs both domestically and on an international scale

Aircraft Options

Our fleet of medical flight jets and planes includes over 100 aircraft distributed worldwide. This allows us to have access to an air ambulance right where and when we need one.

When we provide air ambulance domestic or international services, the patient (and in some cases additional guests) are transported on one of four designs: our twin-engine, turbojets, small jets, mid-size jets, and large/VIP jets.

Gulfstream IV

The VIP jet choice is the best one offered to those who would like to enjoy or require a state-of-the-art multi-million dollar aircraft with a Critical Care team.

Spacious, comfortable, and fast VIP air ambulance can provide worldwide service with longer legs and fewer stops. This option is fairly common for us to use for VIP patients, who include (but are not limited to) political leaders, foreign dignitaries, celebrities, athletes, business leaders, and others.

The air ambulance patient can fly with a full ICU team to meet their every medical need and have as many as 12 family members accompany them during the process. This option gives you the choice to be with your loved ones every step of the way, while still receiving the highest level of medical night care.

Bombardier Learjet 60

The mid-size jets in our air ambulance fleet offer you the speed and comfort you may find in the small jet category, but with more seating capacity and extended cabin room for a larger group of people.

This can be very useful when there is more than one patient (we have room for two patients to travel together on some of these jets) as well as a few additional guests.

Because some of the aircraft used can transport two patients on separate beds, this option allows a fast, economical solution for multiple patient evacuations, even when it involves air ambulance international needs.

Bombardier Learjet 35A

The small jets category is an excellent choice for traveling anywhere in the world for a transcontinental domestic or international medical flight. Whether you are on a Lear jet or a Cessna Citation jet, you will experience a fast, smooth, and safe flight from start to finish. It’s just one of the ways we ensure optimum comfort and confidence in the patients we serve.

While this is a very popular choice for air ambulance, it can be a bit expensive or excessive if you plan to fly less than 1000 miles for your medical flight transfer. If you plan to take an international air ambulance or an empty-leg flight, you may want to consider this option. These aircraft can go as high as 45,000 feet, creating a comfortable “weather-free” flight for even the most fragile of our air ambulance patients. In addition to the patient, there is room for us to transport 3 additional family members or close friends who need to accompany our precious cargo.

Piper Cheyenne II

This upgraded Navajo turboprop plane allows for economical flights both domestically and for nearby international air ambulance trips.

Like the twin-prop, the turboprop provides convenient and economical flights, but with a bit wider flight range for longer patient transfers. Our Turbo Prop planes have room for up to three additional passengers to accompany the patient and our medical crew.

Piper Chieftain

The Twin Prop category of our fleet combines multi-engine aircraft that may be powered by piston or turbocharged jet engines.

These aircraft are extremely safe to fly and are popular for medium-range flights, such as domestic medical flights or nearby international air ambulance needs.

If the patient is stable and does not require the fastest option of flying, this category is a good choice for a convenient, economical, and safe way to travel.

In addition to the patient and our medical flight crew, we also have room for up to three additional passengers (such as immediate family or friends who are traveling with the individual.)
