It serves commercial, private, and military aviation. Today the airport's name is "Jackson International Airport" since it has facilities for international flights. It has an office for U.S. Customs.
KHKS - Hawkins Field is a joint civil-military public airport in Jackson. It is owned by the City of Jackson and operated by the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 called it a general aviation facility. Hawkins Field covers 602 acres. It has two active runways, 5,387 by 150 feet and 3,431 by 150 feet.
